International Day of Human Fraternity
- Description
-
The International Day of Human Fraternity is a United Nations observance that occurs annually on February 4th. This day is a celebration of the principles of love, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence among individuals and nations, and aims to promote dialogue and understanding between different cultures and religions. The day was established in 2019 by the United Nations General Assembly, following the historic signing of the Document on Human Fraternity for World Peace and Living Together by Pope Francis and Sheikh Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Grand Imam of Al-Azhar. The International Day of Human Fraternity reminds us of the importance of promoting mutual respect and understanding among all peoples, and highlights the potential of interfaith cooperation in building a more just and peaceful world.
